The President of the NBA Joseph Bodunrin Daudu SAN on the 30^th of March 2011 inaugurated new Governing Bodies for the Section of Business Law, Section on Public Interest and Development Law, Women’s Forum and Young Lawyers Forum. The Inauguration is coming shortly after the dissolution of the old Governing Councils of SBL and SPIDEL by the National Executive Committee of the NBA. The former Governing Councils of the SBL and SPIDEL were dissolved as a result of a disconnect between those sections and their parent body the NBA. The new Governing Councils were charged by the President of the NBA to inject fresh energy into the section and reconcile their members with the aspirations of the Bar. They were mandated to execute all the programmes of the previous Governing Councils. The NBA President also urged the Governing Councils to formulate robust, intellectually stimulating programmes for the consumption of members of the NBA.

Executives for the Women’s Forum and Young Lawyers Forum of the NBA were also inaugurated and the President noted that the NBA would wait with great expectations for their programmes and events.

Finally, the NBA/NDDC partnership on law and development was inaugurated. This committee was inaugurated to enable the NBA take part in issues concerning the NBA.
