NBA PRESIDENT PAYS A COURTESY VISIT TO THE ECONOMIC FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION

The President of the NBA Joseph Bodunrin Daudu SAN on Friday the 29th of October paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the EFCC Farida Waziri. The EFCC Chairman warmly welcomed the NBA President and congratulated him on his recent election as the President of the NBA. She informed the NBA President that she inherited 10 high profile cases from her predecessor and since then she has instituted over 55 of such cases. She also took the President to task on the slow response of courts to cases that are supposed to be speedily dispatched.
In response, the President of the NBA Joseph Bodunrin Daudu SAN commended the EFCC for a good job so far and informed the Chairman that the battle against corruption is continuous. He also stressed on the need for the amendment of the EFCC act. The NBA President pledged the support of the Nigerian Bar Association to the EFCC and vowed to partner with it in the fight against corruption by providing the best minds in the profession anytime the need arises.
He decried the slow prosecution of matters in courts and gave example of how courts are run in more civilized countries where hearing is speedy and judgment just as swift. He put the blame of slow court proceedings on the appointment of unqualified Judges.
The NBA and EFCC agreed to work together for a better Nigeria.
