NBA Welfare Committee
This is a standing committee of the NBA constituted to cater to the welfare of Legal Practitioners. It is mandate is to
- Formulate a sound and pragmatic welfare package for young lawyers, that will accommodate matters of pupillage, remuneration, work ethics, integration into the legal profession and encouraging specialisation into the various areas of practice.
- Formulate policies for cushioning the adverse effect of a perfunctory economy on mid level players in the profession such as attracting soft loans for the purchase of law office equipments and car loans.
- Devising a nationwide insurance policy to cover the risks to which legal practitioners are exposed to in the course of the performance of their duties such as accidents, death whether by natural causes or other means leading to the loss of the bread winner.
- Coordinating or liaising with the National Pension Commission to find out ways and means to key legal practitioners mandatorily into the reformed National pension Scheme.
- Manage all matters arising from or relating to capacity building of young lawyers.
- Review all previous welfare policies of past Administrations of the NBA and come up with an acceptable and indeed practicable welfare policy.
