NBA Judiciary Committee

The role of the Judiciary Committee is very crucial to the sustenance of the strength and independence of the Bench in Nigeria. The judiciary is part of the tripod that the Government of this country rests on. It exercises a unique function in that it is constitutionally empowered to determine disputes between the various arms of Government, between persons and between Government and persons. To effectively discharge this function which entails the handing down of reasoned decisions in resolution of disputes, the Judiciary must be fearless, industrious, and honest and above all shun corruption.

The Bar through this Committee must be proactive in all matters concerning the Judiciary. The Committee was inaugurated on the 23rd of November 2010 by Joseph Bodunrin Daudu SAN, President of the NBA. The Committee was charged with developing intervention strategy in the modalities for the appointment of Judges and Justices, developing a strategy for the curtailment and or abolition of corruption and finally deal with matters of speedy delivery of justice and other allied issues.
