NBA Human Rights Institute - Governing Council

The Human Rights Institute of the Nigerian Bar Association is a creature of the Association. It is strategic in the Associations quest to discharge its primary function, which is the maintenance and sustenance of the Rule of law. This Committee was inaugurated on the 23rd November 2011 by Joseph Bodunrin Daudu SAN, President of the NBA. 

OBJECTIVES OF THE COMMITTEE 

The objectives of this committee includes but is not limited to the promotion, protection and enforcement of human rights under a just rule of law,  the promotion and protection of the independence of the judiciary and of the legal profession in Nigeria, Africa and worldwide, the adoption and implementation of standards and instruments regarding human rights accepted and enacted by the community of nations and the acquisition and dissemination of information concerning issues relating to human rights, judicial independence and the rule of law in Nigeria and worldwide.
